English Wine Week at the Vineyard 2017

English Wine Week at the Vineyard 2017

At Crouch Ridge Vineyard’s Open Day on Saturday June 3rd we launched our 2015 Classic Cuvee Sparkling wine & our 2016 Pinot Noir red wine.

The Event was opened to the public for wine tasting; wine & food pairing & vineyard tours, A large number of people came out to enjoy a lovely Summer’s afternoon & evening at the Vineyard. There were craft stalls and live music; a BBQ, Indian & Chinese food, local beers, juices & milkshakes were enjoyed by all.

The 30 minute guided vineyard tours were led by owner Ross Lonergan & Viticulturist Duncan who showed people around the vineyard explaining the Vine to Wine story; showing the different stages the vines were at in the Vineyards; from sending out their new shoots on the younger Vineyard to variation, the new bunches of grapes growing on the more established vines in the older Vineyards.

Our 4 acre Vineyard planted in 2015 will be harvested for the first time this year, between early to mid October along with the Vineyard planted in 2013. We would like to produce a still Chardonnay White Wine, a still Rose, a White Sparkling Wine & a still Pinot Noir Red Wine from this years harvest

Also on Saturday 3rd June, Crouch Ridge Vineyard was proud to donate bottles of our 2015 Classic Cuvee Sparkling Wine to name the newest addition to Burnham’s RNLI lifeboat station; the new inshore lifeboat was named D807 David and Barbara Chapman.
