The Vineyard in April
In the space of a few weeks, we have gone from the driest months on record to one of the wettest, so there has been limited activity in the Vineyard, After the pruning, the next job is tying the 2023 canes down onto the bottom single wire on the trellis.
In very warm March, we have seen Budburst, such as in 2018, however this appears to be a normal year. Looking at the vines now, the buds are swelling, but with these cold nights the buds are still very tight. We will go through he furry bud stage which should be in the next few weeks, followed by Budburst and the start of a new growing season. We will report more next month!
